Systematically Sustainable

In the meantime, sustainable solutions and technologies are firmly anchored in all corporate processes of the Wirtgen Group.

We have a vision: The future of road construction must be made smarter and safer and, above all, must maintain a consistent focus on sustainability. This is why sustainability is a guiding principle for all Wirtgen Group product brands. We pursue a strict policy of conserving valuable resources and minimizing harmful emissions in the design and construction of our machines and during their work on construction sites, and, in doing so, make an important contribution to the achievement of a sustainable road construction process chain.

Above all, we have set ourselves the goal of reducing our CO22e emissions on the basis of the Greenhouse Gas Protocols by 2030. Our parent company, John Deere, has had the effectiveness of its envisaged targets assessed and validated on the basis of the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). In order to achieve these goals, we are concentrating our efforts on the fields Operations (in our factories), machine efficiency, as well as on end-to-end solutions in road construction that we call Production Systems. Today, we offer a broad spectrum of products and solutions ranging from alternative fuels to electrified drive systems and from digital assistance systems to recycling applications Further digitalization and future connectivity across entire construction sites offers our customers enormous potential for making their processes even more efficient and, in turn, more sustainable.
