SMART SOFTWARE FOR DRONES
Virtual Surveyor has recently updated its smart drone surveying software with an advanced feature of drone photogrammetry.
The updated software now includes a Terrain Creator app that can process drone photos to produce high-quality terrain models, which can be further used in the Virtual Surveyor workspace for accurate surveying tasks.
The new feature is said to enable seamless integration of drone data with traditional surveying techniques, thus improving the overall surveying accuracy and efficiency.
“Virtual Surveyor software is now two desktop apps in one subscription package that create a seamless end-to-end drone survey workflow to save time and money,” said Tom Op ‘t Eyndt, CEO at Virtual Surveyor.
The Virtual Surveyor software was created to connect drone photogrammetric processing applications with engineering design packages. Before the latest version, users had to use separate software to generate elevation models. These could then be used with the Virtual Surveyor toolset to create 3D topographic information for engineering projects related to surface mining, excavation, and construction.
“Drone surveyors no longer have to spend money on a third-party photogrammetry package to convert their drone photos into an orthomosaic and DSMs,” said Op ‘t Eyndt.
“It just comes with our package, and the fully integrated workflow eliminates the time spent porting photogrammetry products from another package into Virtual Surveyor.”
