CONSTRUCTION ‘EMBRACING TECH AT UNPRECEDENTED RATES’
A new study Hexagon has found that 84% of technology decision-makers at general contracting firms across North America, the UK, and Australia have adopted some form of autonomous technology in the last year to address key business challenges.
Hexagon’s Autonomous Construction Tech Outlook, which is based on input from over 1,000 senior executives, highlights the significant impact that autonomous technology can have on the construction industry, from improving safety and efficiency to supporting sustainability and profitability.
However, the study also reveals that many firms are struggling to identify the best autonomous or automated technology to address their specific challenges and pain points, indicating a need for greater education.
SUBSCRIPTIONS DRIVE Q1 SALES FOR TRIMBLE
Trimble has announced total revenue of US$915 million for the first quarter of 2023, a decrease of 8% from the same quarter last year, although sales for subscription-based services was up.
For the first quarter of the year sales for subscription and services was US$481 million, up from US$426 million from the previous quarter. Sales for products was down from US$566 million to US$434 million.
Regarding different product segments, building and infrastructure had sales of US$399 million, geospatial US$152 million, resources and utilities of US$208 million while the revenue for transportation was US$154 million.
