Following its postponement in 2022 due to the Covid pandemic, Bauma China returns once again in November 2024 after an absence of four years. The show will have an exhibition space of approximately 330,000m2, around 3,400 exhibitors from 32 countries and regions and expects more than 200,000 visitors from around the world. The event was first held in 2002 and has grown into one of the most important construction shows in Asia. At this year’s show there will be international pavilions from Germany, Italy and Turkey.

Speaking to KHL, the show’s organisers, Messe Munchen, said that the event was, “Asia’s leading trade fair for construction machinery, building material machines, mining machines, and construction vehicles, showcasing the latest intelligent, digital and green products and trends of the industry.”

Domestic and international firms

Confirmed domestic exhibitors include XCMG, Sany, Zoomlion, SDLG, Lonking, Shantiu, Dingli, Lovol and CRCHI. International exhibitors include many of the world’s biggest OEMs such as Caterpillar, Wirtgen Group, Meto, Terex, Manitou, Manitowoc, Bomag, Ammann, Skyjack, Haulotte, Hidromek, Bobcat and Kubota. When asked what would be different at this year’s show Messe Munchen said, “Based on the registration status of exhibitors, the attachments sector is experiencing rapid growth and becoming a new ‘focus’ in the industry. Demand for aerial platforms remains stable, and the excavator market is gradually recovering.”

The event will see a number of presentations by top-class experts at the supporting programmes on topics including: Standardisation of industrial machinery, new energy engineering machinery and energy storage industry collaborative innovation, industrial machinery supply chain innovation practice.

Selected exhibitors

ZOOMLION will participate under the thematic framework of ‘Greener Development Brighter Future.’ The company will exhibit a diverse portfolio comprising nine major categories: engineering hoisting, machinery concrete machinery, construction hoisting machinery earthmoving machinery, mining equipment, aerial work platforms, foundation machinery, industrial vehicles, and new construction materials.

Additionally, Zoomlion will showcase digital solutions, including the ZValley Smart Mining platform, alongside a range of key components, collectively amounting to over 80 products and technological innovations.

The theme of ‘Greener Development Brighter Future’ aligns closely with the showcased products and technical solutions, including digital solutions and products that are high-end, intelligent, and green. Notably, nearly 20 green and new energy products will be on display, accounting for about one-fourth of the company's exhibits, covering various new energy technologies across product lines. Additionally, Zoomlion will showcase a series of world-leading and industry-first heavy-duty products and over 20 new product launches. Another highlight of this exhibition for the OEM is diversity. In recent years, while consolidating its traditional core industries, Zoomlion has been developing new emerging sectors.

In addition to its traditional product lines the company will significantly expand its exhibits in new areas such as earthmoving machinery, aerial work platforms, mining machinery, and new construction materials.

CHINA RAILWAY CONSTRUCTION HEAVY INDUSTRY CORPORATION (CRCHI) says that Bauma China is the largest and the most influential construction machinery industry exhibition in China and that customers and experts from all over the world will also come to visit. A spokesperson for CRCHI commented on the importantance of face-to-face shows, saying, “Face-to-face communication is more authentic, warmer, and more efficient. At the exhibition, we can shake hands with customers, smile, introduce products and technologies to them, invite them to sit down and have a cup of coffee or tea, and discuss cooperation.”

The theme for CRCHI is ‘underground engineering equipment helps the development of deep earth space’. The focus of the display is the products and technology of the new type of tunnelling machine, drilling and blasting tunnel construction equipment and mining construction equipment.

The company will display complete sets of underground construction equipment and mining construction equipment. The key products include large diameter slurry TBM, large diameter open-type hard rock TBM, large slope inclined TBM, large slope spiral TBM, and large diameter horizontal rescue rig. The booth will have rich digital display content, such as glasses-free 3D video and VR virtual operation experience, which can make the audience feel as if they are on the tunnel construction site and watch the construction of TBM and other equipment.

LGMG says that, at the show, it will launch its hybrid models, and display the upgraded and new generation of boom lifts, as well as its new telehandlers.

The OEM will bring about 40 sets of equipment to the event, including mining equipment, MEWPs, and telehandlers. At Bauma Chima LGMG will hold a Global Partner Conference to network with the industrial players to seek new development for the construction machinery industry and sustainable development.

SDLG believes that Bauma China provides Chinese enterprises with an opportunity to showcase their latest products, technologies, and solutions on a global stage.

The OEM said that participating in Bauma China helps understand the latest development trends, market demands, and technological innovations in the global construction industry.

The company’s theme for the event is ‘The Development of New Quality, Building the Future Together’. The OEM aims to establish a brand image centered around innovation, reliability, efficiency, and high performance. In this exhibition, the company will focus on these key themes to provide customers with high-quality and cutting-edge products and services. Key displayed products will be mining equipment and electric products. SDLG will showcase a total of 21 products, including a full range of equipment for loader, excavator, grader, and road roller, offering comprehensive equipment solutions. At the event, SDLG will also showcase large machinery suitable for mining segment. The large models all adopt advanced fully electric controlled hydraulic systems with intelligent motion control. They boast fast response speeds, high power utilisation rates, significantly improved efficiency, and further reduced fuel consumption. The OEM will also showcase electric products including electric excavators ranging from 1 to 6 tons, a 22-ton electric excavator, electric wheel loaders ranging from 3 to 7 tons, and a 7-ton hybrid wheel loader. Electric products represent the future trend of development. SDLG will continue to develop new energy products to further meet customer needs for maintaining SDLG’s leading position in the industry.

EDDIE will showcase a variety and full range of construction machinery products. This year’s exhibition is expected to attract thousands of manufacturers, suppliers, and professionals from domestic and international markets, facilitating industry communication and collaboration.

While showcasing advancements and innovations in the construction machinery sector, it will also promote technological progress and industrial upgrading.

As a leading manufacturer of hydraulic breakers, attachments, and hydraulic systems, Eddie will exhibit products including: a full range of hydraulic breakers for 1-150 ton excavators (including China’s first pure hydraulic breaker), quick couplers, hydraulic compactors, crushers, hydraulic shears, hydraulic pulverizers, grapples, complete hydraulic systems (pumps, multi-way control valves, travel motors, swing motors) for construction machinery, road machinery, and agricultural machinery, as well as complete electrical systems (batteries, motors, electronic controls) for aerial work platforms, handling machinery, and vehicle construction machinery.
