What you should see at Hillhead 2024

The must-see equipment on show for demolition and recycling contractors.

WHERE IS IT? Hillhead Quarry, Buxton, United Kingdom

WHEN IS IT? 25 to 27 June www.hillhead.com

In a matter of weeks the Hillhead 2024 equipment exhibition in the United Kingdom, which in 2022 attracted 18,000 visitors, will once again return its Buxton Quarry showground, taking place from 25 to 27 of June.

While the event is smaller in terms of visitor numbers than the likes of ConExpo and Bauma Munich, its focus on quarrying, material handling, recycling and demolition, ensures that those who do attend are guaranteed to find exactly what they need.

But with over 200 product categories, finding things can be a bit of a challenge.

So, to help demolition and recycling contractors save time, here’s a brief list of the most highly anticipated equipment that will be on display.

CDE

When it comes to recycling equipment, industry heavyweight CDE is to showcase the FreeFlow Mobile Washing Plant.

Claimed to be the only machine of its kind available on the market in the world, the FreeFlow is a trailer mounted plant for aggregate and sand classification.

It offers a capacity of up to 70 tph and can be used with a range of materials, such as sand, gravel, crushed rock, scalpings, sand and overburden.

Husqvarna

Husqvarna Construction will be showing its new DXR 95 demolition robotthe fifth model in the company’s product lineup.

The model, which weighs just over half a tonne and can be transported in a standard van, has a powertrain that delivers 9.8 kW of power and 250 bar of pressure to the end-of-arm tool.

With an upward reach of 3.16 m and a forward reach of 2.67 m, the tracked robot can be used for range applications, including underground rock breaking and chimney removal.

There will also be a range of compact equipment on show, with the DX27Z-7 and DX55R-7 mini-excavators and DL85-7 compact wheel loader.

The display will be completed by Develon’s DX235LCR-7 24.3-tonne crawler excavator.

Edge Innovate

Edge Innovate will debut its ScreenPro S18 tracked scalping screen.

The ScreenPro S18 is a heavyduty model that is designed to handle aggregate, construction waste, sand, and more, but with the addition of over-band magnets and magnetic head drums, it can also be used for ferrous metal recycling applications.

MB Crusher

MB Crusher’s stand at Hillhead will feature units from both the compact and the heavy line.

Key products on show will include the padding bucket, which MB says “redefines the process of handling materials”.

The padding bucket will be shown alongside MB Crusher’s latest sorting grapple. Designed for precision work, the company says the grapple allows operators to pick, sort, and place materials with ease.
