DEAR READER
I’m quite sure that, like me, part of you is wondering how we could already be halfway through 2024.
In the first quarter of the year many of us will have had a rough picture of the coming year – one imbued with the possibilities of what was to come. But with each decision made and every commitment confirmed, the demands on our time, the workload and the standards that we would have to achieve, also became defined, confirmed, and no doubt, increased.
And so now, rather than holding a picture of possibilities, we are immersed in the pixelated, nitty-gritty detail of scheduling, developing and executing.
The once rose-tinted image has become a complex and relentless schedule of works. One that, if we are not careful, will wear us down – as individuals and as a collective – on every level, and cause us to lose sight of the bigger, rosier picture we began the year with.
As I close out this issue of D&Ri, and reflect on a body of completed work, I hope that you will find within it something more than just the contents of its pages – whether that be a renewed perspective that helps you reconnect with the broader vision that inspired you at the start of the year, or simply a few, quiet minutes to yourself.
Warm regards,
LEILA STEED
